CDES Youth Training

Youths engaged in promoting and increasing their involvement and turnout in electoral processes in Cameroon. CDES trains youths as peer educators to propel youth participation in the upcoming twin elections in Cameroon. The Executive Director of CDES Cameroon, Mr. Atem Oben Henry gave an insight to the electoral cycle and how youths can effectively participate in elections using the electoral cycle approach.
The Youth Leaders from Tiko, Mutengene, Muyuka, Buea and Limbe in the South West Region were also trained on the voting procedures, the importance of a voter card, the function and composition of various electoral commissions from local polling commissions to the national final vote counting commission, best practices in combating electoral fraud and the role of ELECAM, NCC, CONAC, National and International Election Observers and MINATD in ensuring a credible election come September 30, 2013.
